Anya's Natural Horsemanship Tips

Learn how to soar with eagles...... Stand by for hot tips, articles and links....

This site is designed by

Anya Lav to promote Good Horsemanship techniques, using the horses' natural instincts and motivations. I will give you a base of knowledge of equine behaviour, giving you clear reasons why Good Horsemanship, - or "Natural Horsemanship" as it is tagged, is THE ONLY WAY TO GO if you really care about horses.
I'm 27yo, from Melbourne, Australia. I have trained and started horses using good, natural horsemanship methods and plan to start and train many people in this technique too, for the horse's sake.
Natural Horsemanship is the coined name for methods that are based on an understanding and true knowlege of the horse's psychology and behaviour, that enable us to throw away the bigger bit in exchange for the bigger brain. We need to understand how the horse sees his world, how he thinks and processes information before we can look after him fully. Learn how to get control in a willing partnership.... Learn how to get both you and your horse relaxed and happy, not just in control....

99% of 'Problem horses' aren't. The horses actually have problem people!
Think about it. A horse is, by nature, a prey animal. He is built to be alert and react to danger by sprinting away. Humans are predators, designed by nature to be hunters, natural enemies to the horse. It is only that the horse is so adaptable and willing to follow a leader that enables us to train him in the first place.

Leslie Desmond's Home page
A good Natural Horsemanship site that is easy to understand, very comprehensive, and also has reference to Bill Dorrance, the father figure, along with his brother Tom, of modern 'Natural Horsemanship' practice.
